Totally funny and a little out there, you were able to take a bizzare song and match it with an even more bizzare flash short. I thought you were able to create one of the best characters i can recall in recent times with fred the beard, you gave him a personality that capitalized on the songs lyrics. The characters were very well drawn and gave me the feel of something that i could watch on television. One thing you must do now is bring back the character, you don't need a new song to do so, i see a lot of potential with a straight up comedy skit.

Gruesomely hilarious comes to mind with this flash short. I found the setup to be pretty standard but the punch line was terrific, really did capture the essence of the day. I thought you added just enough hits but i did find that sound effect to be getting on my nerves very soon. The animation was simple, but your brightly colored saint pat saved the graphics side of things by having such a great character design. As a final note, the voice overs were all good and the big guy at the end had a great voice.

Well it's obvious that what has made this flash work to start with was the great song that i give huge props to but that doesn't take away from the animated effort because a song without graphics isn't a good flash. You were able to pick a song that had a lot of possible visual jokes and you were able to nail every last one of them, you did repeat a couple of scenes but i do see that with normal music videos a lot so it wasn't much of a bother. The main character was well designed and had a good amount of attitude in the way he carried out stuff. Overall i am very pleased with this, the song was just meant for this music video.

Heh, i like the style you used here it was something different to the ordinary and i like seeing that. You have this series setup so that it is told in pictures rather then animation, now normally this would appear to be a big mistake to me but because of your extraordinary voice over work you were able to bring the still frames to life. The drawings were decent but were lacking depth to the scenes, and the jokes were well delivered. I find this style something that can be set apart from the norm and encourage further use in the future.

I was greeted with a lovely menu screen with so much energy, you had all the graphics moving and the sound was pumping, nicely done.
Lord Sonx - had some very interesting animation morphing, samurEYE - had some great character designs and was a good action sequence, Trinidex - was a little too plain and the music was too dull, Junky cow - was my favorite i thought the simplicity was what captured my attention the best music also, Daj - was again suffering the same problems as junky cow. Overall a nice collab, the thing with collabs is there is always enough there for anyone to enjoy, i may not like them all but as a whole it was entertaining.

Its not often that i start off with the parts that i didn't like but i thought that they had to be addressed first before i could go onto the parts i did like, now for me you had two problems that influenced wrong themes that you weren't trying to portray, they were the graphics and the characters voice, the graphics just came off too cutesy for me i thought you could have distanced yourself from that anime-esque look, the voice although the acting was terrific the tone of the voice was too high so i couldn't really get the most out of your sad and depressing tale. The good things to come out of this however were your story, which i thought was powerful, the backgrounds, which were nicely darkened to really bring me into the characters personal space and mind frame and props to the voice acting although it didn't suit the theme it had a lot of heart.

Good stuff

Nothing more refreshing then a simple music video, something that you can just watch and get lost in it and that is what you have done here. I have seen quite a few like these in my time but very few have been able to capture my attention more then yours has with just simple patterns and shapes. I was seriously watching it and by the time it had reached the end the screen was yellow, i couldn't even remember when it turned yellow!, you were able to create such a vibrant feel with little graphical use and rather applied your efforts to the animation which was stellar. Results of this flash show one obvious thing: if you nail the art of drawing you will be big in whatever you do.

Short but with a twist of comedy

This seemed to me as a flash short that really had no place to go but just pondered around the same joke for the length of the flash that im sure will lose alot of effect to people who aren't familiar with this sort of stuff on youtube, however for those who have this will come across as a funny parody. I thought the joke was good and i like how you re-stated the characters thoughts a couple of times, however the joke at the end didn't seem to make much sense in fitting into the rest of the piece so i just took it as a random joke and i thought that the bit of physical humor did add to this. The graphics were great, loved the character design the eyes especially, but i didn't like the animation for the arm it just seemed like a scribbley line when it moved. Highlight for this comes from the voices provided for the two characters i thought that they came across incredibly clear and with a flash that relies so heavily on the voice acting i thought that this stood up really well. Overall the newgrounds audience should appreciate the the graphics but more importantly pay attention to the class act which was the voice acting.

Nonstop laughs

Loved it, i thought that this adventure/comedy was so well written and just sparkled on the flash screen. I was a little worried at the start because the animation and the graphics were both a little dodgy and the first couple of jokes weren't the strongest but as soon as the elevator to hell appeared the flash really picked up in all aspects, i have to say that i even started to become lost into the world of the show which means you have been able to create a really professional piece because that only happens when im watching tv shows or a movie, not usually with a flash animation. The voices come to mind as a major part of this to me, i thought that they all had there own specific voices that suited them and really helped some of the less graphically intense scenes such as the one in Jehovah's witness's hell. I also commend you on adding some subtitles not for your British accents but because the microphone was a little weak at times. Your strongest accomplishment in this flash comes from the great cartoon-esque moment of the door openings for each character, something really clicked there to me and i wont soon forget it. As i stated earlier the graphics were probably the only thing i could really pick at being not up to the rest of the piece, the animation improved considerably after the first scene, the backgrounds to be more specific were just dragging the piece down, only a little bit by the way. Overall i think the viewing public of newgrounds should check this out for its great mix of British accents and quality comedic brilliance.

Extremely Bizzare

Well that was some great animation, the graphics were really abstract as i'm sure they were designed but the action moved so smoothly. The colors you used were brilliant, as if it were a Disney cartoon gone terribly bad. Now the main part of your flash revolved around the violence and you didn't disappoint, you were even able to somehow add something violent into every scene with my personal favorite being the little head on the table that fills up with blood and then falls to the ground. One point that may need improving however is the music in the background, you may have picked the right genre of music but i don't feel that the piece has the best to offer to your flash, at times it just didn't seem creepy enough with the animation not flowing at the same harmony as the music. I have to say as i watched i didn't pickup the meaning as it was intended after i saw the credits and the characters you used i feel that you have put alot of work into the story aspect of this and it was worth the second watch to understand better. Overall i will say that i found it to be some what of a trip but by someone with alot of intelligence that it makes the viewer think and i advise to the audience not to view during a snack.

Catoblepas responds:

I got the inspiration for the colours after playing a kirby game on DS. Surprisingly the colours are the most praised part of this movie, and I'm planning to make my future flashes as violently colourful as this one. And yeah, the character part is meant to help the watcher see even some sanity in the plot.

And thanks for the review.

I would like to give as many authors as i can, straight to the point feedback with my reviews. So it would be nice if you could return with a response :)
